The Return – Nicholas Sparks – Book Review

I have always been a big fan of Nicholas Sparks novels so I throughly enjoyed this one. So much so that I didn’t want it to end. I found that this book really engaged my imagination I could picture all the characters so clear in my head.

Trevor Benson has returned to his hometown New Burn, North Carolina after a mortar blast outside of hospital that he worked at in Afghanistan leaving him with devastating injuries. He comes home to his la†e grandfather cabin with the intention to do it up and sell it.

The last thing he was looking for was to fall in love with someone. From his very first encounter with Natalie Masterson they had an undeniable connection, even though she seems to reciprocate Trevors feelings she remains distant. This makes him wonder what she is hiding.

There is one thing that is complicating his stay, Callie. Callie lives in a trailer park nor far from Trevor’s grandfather cabin. Trevor discovers that Callie was once befriended by his grandfather. Knowing that they had a friendship Trevor hopes that Callie will have some knowledge about the mysterious circumstances surrounding his grandfather death.

Trevor eventually begins to unravel the truth that Callie ands Natalie and through this he learns the true meaning of forgiveness and love. Trevor learns that in order to move forward sometimes we have to return to the place where it all began.
