Pale Waves – Smitten Album Review

Manchester based four piece Pale Waves recently released their latest album and I was lucky enough to be able to attend the launch party for the album last week Thursday, in London. The whole event ran smoothly from start to finish allowing everyone in attendance to be the first people in the United Kingdom to hear their latest album in full from start to finish.

What I enjoyed most about the album was the fact that each song flowed into the next, with different melodies, hooks and lyrics that left me not wanting the song to end. My favourite songs on the album are Thinking About You and Glasgow. Just because of the indescribable feeling the songs gave me when I heard them for the first time.

I have been a fan of the band since their first album dropped back in 2018 and I have had the privilege to see them perform at festivals and headline shows. I think what stands out the most about the band is how friendly and how much an impact they have on their fan base through their honest and raw music that everyone can relate to.

Pale Waves have never been afraid of making changes to their sound and this is a testament to each member of the bands creativity whether it comes to lyrics or catchy melodies that will stand the test of time. For me, this is such an accomplished body of work that I know I will be listening to for the days and months to come. Shout out to Dirty Hit for organising such an amazing event. It was an experience that I will never forget.

If you have not streamed the album yet in part or in full I urge you to do so you will not be left disappointed! You can also order a copy of the album on CD and Vinyl (like I have) from all good reputable retailers.

Catch Pale Waves on tour this autumn in venues around the UK. Let me know what you thought of the album and also if you are planning on seeing the band play at any point in the near future.
